Delirious

I don't know how many people think about Delirious anymore, but I have almost totally forgotten about them. I'm listening to the Cutting Edge right at this moment, and I'm amazed how I could forget such good music. The Cutting Edge is one of the best examples of passionate and stellar modern praise albums I can think of that still stands the test of time. At times it seems a little hokey ("The Happy Song"), but at other times, it's just plain beautiful because of its contriteness. I don't think people know anything about Delirious' older music, so if this is your first time to hear about the Cutting Edge, I highly recommend it.

On Cigars and Capri Sun

I smoked my first cigar last night. My friend Adam and I went to Heroes and Legacies the other evening to check out the many different types of cigars. I told him that I wanted a "beginner's" stogie, so he recommend a vanilla Sweet Daddy to me. They each cost 3 dollars; I duly purchased one.

I must admit, the taste the cigar left on my lips was very nice, but the smoke that went into my mouth didn't taste that great. Plus, it still slightly lingers in there to this very morning.

What Have We Here?

I watched Serenity on yesterday's evening. I thought it had a good story and some interesting characters, but I still don't think that it should ever be compared to Star Wars. If you watch Serenity, you'll most likely notice that it is lacking in character and is also somewhat hokey in regards to the musical selections they chose. However, hokey isn't always bad. For example, Pirates of the Caribbean is hokey, but it's still a cool movie.

iPods and fight squads

No, the name "emptycdwallet" has nothing to do with iPods. My blog has been around since August 2003, well before the iPod rush. To be honest, I "emptycdwallet" to be the title of my blog because it is ambiguous. You have to ask yourself, "What does that mean?" and if you've done just that, then I have succeeded.

Forrestonian Update

For those of you who are actually concerned with what is going on in my life, here it is. I've been going to class, which consists of college algebra, U.S. history, biology of animals, music ap., and freshmen seminar. I've been getting involved with a student organization called Campus Crusade for Christ. Monday nights we have bible studies. Sometimes we eat sweets. Sometimes we don't.

You readers of my blog are near and dear to my heart.

Tacoes, yeah I like 'em. I also like Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros. I like hot tea; perhaps I'll make some tomorrow morning... only if it's cold enough. Why is hot tea always connected to homosexuality when men drink it. I think that's a total smack in the face to us straight guys who consume it.

Nerd Rocker! No No No No No

How would you feel if you were told that you resemble a nerd rocker - the lead singer from Weezer, for example. You may appreciate the remark, but I hate it. Nerd rockers are so nerdy, and if I have to be part of their group, I'd rather throw everything I know about the guitar down the drain. I don't want to be stereotyped. I want to be known as "Forrest, the guy who plays the guitar," not "Forrest, the nerd rocker." Please understand where I'm coming from.

Happy Leif Ericson Day.

May you be a good little viking today.

So far I've heard about four albums from 2005. Perhaps I've heard more, but I don't think so. The reason there is so few is because I'm very picky when it comes to music. Here are the four I've heard.

1) Speak for Yourself - Imogen Heap
2) Takk... - Sigur Ros
3) Lifehouse - Lifehouse
4) Guero - Beck

And I think I like 'em in that order, which is wierd because Sigur Ros is real good. Immi is very good, too, though. The reason Beck is falling after Lifehouse is because I haven't listen to Guero all of the way. I still need to.

While I could write a somewhat sizeable post, I've opted to take the route of playing video games---sonic the hedgehog, in particular. Incidently, I've been messing around with this hypothesis---throwing it around and hitting it with a bat, if you will---and have come to the conclusion that video games sharpen the concentration of one's mind. Try for yourself; see if I'm wrong. :p
